JUDE ONYEKA CHIEMEKA, FCS/ ASEA President

Chief Executive Officer, Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) Chairman, West African Capital Markets Integration Council (WACMIC)

Jude Onyeka Chiemeka is the Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), a wholly owned subsidiary of Nigerian Exchange Group Plc. He also serves as Chairman of the West African Capital Markets Integration Council (WACMIC), where he contributes to efforts to deepen capital market integration, facilitate cross-border investment and strengthen the development of West African capital markets. He has over 30 years of professional experience spanning securities trading, asset management, investment banking and capital markets across Africa. Since joining The Nigerian Stock Exchange in 2019 as Divisional Head, Trading Business, he has held progressively senior leadership positions, including Divisional Head, Capital Markets and Executive Director, Capital Markets, before his appointment as Chief Executive Officer of NGX. Career Highlights Prior to joining the Exchange, Mr. Chiemeka was Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of United Capital Securities Limited, where he championed the first cross-border trade under the West African Capital Markets Integration initiative. He also played a leading role in product development, market penetration and institutional client management. Previously, he served as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Chapel Hill Denham Securities and RenCap Securities (Nigeria) Limited, a subsidiary of Renaissance Capital. Earlier in his career, he was Head of Securities Trading at Afrinvest West Africa Limited. He began his professional career with Dominion Trust Limited in 1994. Landmark Transactions & Achievements His career has included participation in several pioneering capital-market transactions and initiatives, including the first Global Depositary Receipt (GDR) transaction on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange and reverse GDR transactions. He also championed the issuance and listing of the $10 million Eurobond Mutual Fund and the Wealth for Women Mutual Fund, a gender-focused mutual fund listed on NGX. Professional Memberships Mr. Chiemeka is a Fellow and Council Member of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (FCS). He is also affiliated with the Institute of Directors (IoD) and the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), UK. He is a Fellow of the Association of Investment Advisers and Portfolio Managers and an Associate of the Certified Pension Institute of Nigeria. Education & Executive Development He is an alumnus of the University of Lagos, Lagos Business School, and the University of Oxford, United Kingdom. With extensive experience across market infrastructure, securities trading and investment banking, Mr. Chiemeka continues to contribute to initiatives aimed at deepening African capital markets, expanding investment opportunities and strengthening regional market integration.
